Facilities Technician

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible to maintain the function and reliability of building utilities including HVAC, steam, condensate, compressed air, process water, potable water, process sewer, sanitary sewer, CIP system, and waste water treatment systems.? In addition, maintain building infrastructure including roofs, walls and floors along with grounds maintenance.


????????? Works with Facilities Supervisor on Projects throughout the plant;

????????? Ability to perform light pipefitting and plumbing repairs and small projects;

????????? Inspects facilities equipment (e.g. fire safety, generators, compressors, etc.); systems (e.g. electrical, plumbing, power sources, etc.); and work of vendors to determine condition of facilities, safe operation of equipment;

????????? May be required to respond to emergency calls for assigned work area to perform emergency building or equipment repairs.

????????? Track utility usage, equipment performance and equipment efficiency through monthly reports.

????????? Assist Facilities Supervisor, planning, managing small Capital and Improvement Projects.

????????? Manage and coordinate contractors and work performed in the plant.

????????? Back up support for Facilities Supervisor in their absence.?

????????? Maintain and repair water and steam system components such as heat exchangers, pumps, motors, tanks, and valves.

????????? Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained.?


????????? High School Diploma or GED required with a minimum four-five (4-5) years as a Facilities mechanic or equivalent

????????? Familiar with the following equipment/areas:

????????? HVAC Systems

????????? Boiler Rooms

????????? Air Compressors and Dryers

????????? Tank Farms and Pumps

????????? RO supply water

????????? Hot Water and Steam Systems throughout the plant

????????? Working knowledge of electrical principles and theories;

????????? General knowledge of steam distribution, piping, and plumbing system;



????????? Occasional work in tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes, indoors or outdoors;

????????? Exposure to extreme loud noises;

????????? Standing and moving by foot;

????????? Frequent exposure to extreme hot/cold (non-weather) environment;

????????? Work in high places and near moving mechanical parts;

????????? Frequent lifting/carrying <50 pounds, reaching and use of fingers;

????????? Frequent reaching/pulling/bending/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending, especially in areas requiring repair or installation;

????????? Occasionally lifting >50 pounds;

????????? Potential exposure to caustic chemicals.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
