The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support in various tasks related to funeral services and events.
Assist with funeral services by parking cars, directing visitors, driving hearse and/or service vehicles, assist funeral director with directing funeral, work evening visitations, etc.
Availability to be called on to transfer decedents from place of death to funeral home during the daytime, overnight (5 PM - 8 AM), on weekends, and holidays.
Due to the nature of this business, hours will vary as transfers can happen at any time during the day, night, weekends, holidays, etc.
Transfers are from residences, apartments, nursing homes, long term care facilities, hospitals, and medical examiner offices.
Must have valid drivers license, clean driving record, and be able to perform heavy lifting.
Experience is not required, but characteristics needed:
compassion, caring, and empathy.
Professional attire required (black suit, white button down, and black shoes.
CarusoCare tie will be provided).
Pay is $20 per hour.
An average funeral is 4-6 hours.
For all transfers of decedents, employee will get an automatic 3.
5 hours plus loaded mileage.
